Because you care about community,
about children, about seniors.

Things happen at our library.
Through your generous gifts, coupled with others like you, we have been able to accomplish so much to enrich the culture surrounding the Grand Rapids Public Library by using these gifts in creation of an active and dynamic community.
This spring, the One Book, One City for Kids is celebrating the book "Punished!" by David Lubar, with special programs, parties and book signings all through March. It's a way to introduce children to the joy and wonderment that only a book can provide. Made possible through funding from the GRPLF.
The Spilled Ink Book Club continues to draw people together through the love of books and the arts - and the spirit of competition to see how many books can be completed by the deadline. Made possible through funding from the GRPLF.
We have, and will continue to honor the diversity of our community during African American History and Hispanic Heritage Month with such special programming such as history quizzes where participants can win prizes, special author, workshop and cultural events. Made possible through funding from the GRPLF.
And there's a more practical, brick and mortar side. The Rain Garden Project at the Main Library is designed to help keep storm water runoff out of the building, protecting the valuable contents that lie inside. Made possible, of course, through funding from the GRPLF.
This support matters to a child's development, seniors seeking a social and cultural circle, a community putting the patchwork of its heritage together, and the protection of our resources, in a physical and intellectual sense.
These are just a few examples of how your gifts can make things happen. Please call me at 988-5493 to discuss how you can create your own legacy with a gift to the Library Foundation in support of the Grand Rapids Public Library.
